Coriolis Mass Flow Meter

  • Cor 2400S Coriolis flow device is designed with an actuator that enables a small tube to vibrate continuously at its natural frequency. Two sensors placed along this tube measure the tube's deflection over time. When no fluid flows through the tube, both sensors measure the same deflection simultaneously. However, when a liquid or gas flows through the tube, the mass of the fluid causes an additional twist to the tube due to the fluid's inertia.

    The difference between the deflection measurements of the two sensors, known as the ‘phase shift,’ directly measures the mass flow through the tube. The phase shift is proportional to the mass flow rate, indicating that a higher mass flow rate results in a larger phase shift. The Coriolis effect-based mass flow devices have an additional function- they measure fluid density!

    While phase shift measures mass flow rate, the vibration frequency of the tube determines fluid density. The vibration frequency of the tube is affected by the density of the fluid. Denser fluids vibrate with a lower frequency than less dense ones. Therefore, the vibration frequency is a direct measure of the density of the liquid or gas. The same device measures mass flow rate and density independently, demonstrating Coriolis flow meters’s versatility.

Ultrasonic CLamp-ON Flow Meter

  • ULTRA 2400W is a clamp-on ultrasonic flow meter that measures the flow of liquids and liquefied gases in a fully-filled pipe. It utilizes two clamp-on ultrasonic transducers installed on the pipe's external surface, which work on the transit-time principle. Open Channel Flow Meter

  • iFlow 600X-OC series flowmeter consists of a flow calculator and a sensor.

    The sensor measures water velocity, depth, and conductivity in rivers, streams, open channels, and pipes. Flow rate and total flow can also be calculated using a companion calculator.

    The flow calculator can calculate the cross-sectional area of a partially filled pipe, open channel stream or river, for stream or river, with up to 20 coordinate points describing the river’s shape of the cross-section. It is suitable for various applications.

    Ultrasonic Doppler Principle in Quadrature Sampling Mode is utilised to measure water velocity. The sensor transmits ultrasonic energy through its epoxy casing into the water. Suspended sediment particles, or small gas bubbles in the water reflect some of the transmitted ultrasonic energy back to the sensor’s ultrasonic receiver instrument that processes this received signal and calculates the water velocity.

    Water depth is measured with two methods. An ultrasonic depth sensor measures water depth using the ultrasonic principle from a top-mounted sensor on the instrument. Depth is also measured using the pressure principle from a bottom-mounted sensor in the instrument. These two sensors provide flexibility in in-depth measurement. Some applications, for example, measuring from the side of a pipe, better suit a pressure principle, while others in clear open channels better suit an ultrasonic principle.

    The sensor has a 4 electrodes conductivity instrument (EC) included to measure the quality of the water, with four electrodes exposed to the water at the top of the instrument. Water quality is measured on an ongoing basis and this parameter can be recorded along with velocity and depth to better analyze the nature of the water in open channels and pipes.
